This video shows East Sparta Mayor Jackie Truax reading a proclamation to dedicate the town pump as a historic site. The pump has been located in the middle of town for over a century and has offered many residents and visitors a refreshing drink.
The video also shows village residents re-creating a historic photo taken in 1915 during East Sparta's centennial. In the historic photo, many people gathered to hold a huge American flag. During the event held last week, "Old Glory" was again rolled out, and other events such as a car show were held during the weekend.
