Haas takes home MVP for East Canton baseball

East Canton's spring sports teams recently handed out their postseason awards.

East Canton baseball coach Jason Hall will retire after 18 seasons as this marked his final banquet as the head coach of the Hornets.

Senior Jonah Haas took home the MVP award for his outstanding play as both a pitcher and at the plate. He also picked up the offensive player of the year award and received his fourth varsity letter in baseball.

Matthew Gothard took home the most improved award while also picking up his third year letter.

Brandon Clapper was the defensive player of the year and also walked away with his third year varsity letter.

Logan Mercer won the Hornet award while picking up his second year varsity award.

Jack Davis earned his fourth year award while third year awards went to Sabato Dasco and Collin Vacco.

First year awards were handed out to Nate Davis, Trey Mallonn and Joe Knopp.
