East Canton competed at the prestigious Boardman Invitational this past Saturday. The cross-country meet draws the best teams from the state of Ohio. Thirty-four schools took part in the Division III girls race, with East Canton placing 11th.

Sandy Valley competes at Boardman

Sandy Valley competed at the Boardman Invitational this past weekend, a mini version of the state meet. The boys placed 17th out of 33 teams in Division III. Aleks Rymer paced the way as he finished 52nd out of 326 runners with a time of 18:37.4.

East Canton head football coach John "Spider" Miller liked his team's ground attack against Garaway last Friday. The Hornets totaled 137 yards on the ground in a 41-7 loss. However, Miller wants his team to limit its miscues. "We did have some success running the ball." he said.

Ridgewood stops Sandy Valley in battle of undefeated football teams

A strong second half fueled Ridgewood over Sandy Valley to begin conference play for both teams. The Generals scored 21 points on their way to a 31-0 win. Two touchdown runs by Trent Harrison and a touchdown pass from Kolton Alexander to Braeden Smith sealed the victory.

East Canton competed in the Tiffin Carnival Cross Country Invitational this past Saturday, with the girls finishing 24th and the boys placing 22nd. Ashlynn Almasy led the Lady Hornets as she finished 14th out of 373 runners with a time of 19:59.4. Emily Cain was 95th in 22:16.
