Osnaburg Local Schools salute veterans

Osnaburg Local Schools veterans were invited to join in a school wide Veterans Day ceremony on Nov. 11. The day kicked off with a breakfast prepared by cafeteria staff served to the 40 veterans in attendance. Performances were made by the East Canton choir.

WAYNESBURG-- Students at St. James School on Tuesday had a chance to cast a ballot just like voters around the area. They weren't voting for a president or county commissioner. Rather, they were selecting their school's student council.

RG Drage to host career day

Explore the many career opportunities available at the R. G. Drage Career Technical Center on Nov. 22 from 5-8 p.m. A free chili supper also will be held. Demonstrations will be given in career technical areas. In the event of inclement weather, the career day will be held on Dec. 6.

A spaghetti dinner benefit for Kathy (Martinelli) Catlett will be held at McCalls Banquet Center on Oct. 21. Dinner will be served from 4-8 p.m. Other parts of the evening will include a DJ, dancing, 50/50 drawing, basket raffle and silent auction from 4-10 p.m.

Sandy Valley band holds majorette clinic

On Sept. 23, the Sandy Valley band held it's annual Little Cardinal Majorette Clinic. The clinic had 29 participants. The little majorettes were taught some basic maneuvers and a routine taught by the SVHS majorettes. They joined the band on the field on Friday for pregame.
