Stanley Kenneth Smythe

Stanley Kenneth Smythe, 88, of Tampa, Fla., passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010. Smythe was a gasoline truck driver in Canton, a Hartline bus driver in Tampa, and for 10 years, a bus driver for Lakeshore Assisted Living. In his 50 years of service, he was accident free.

He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge in Canton and Tampa. Stanley was also a member of Grangers of Ohio, a Warden in the Eastern Star, Scottish Rite, Rifle Club, and 100 Bomb Group of WWII. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corp during WWII, stationed in England.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gail, and second wife, Gerry. He is survived by his care-giver, supporter, and wife, Roxie Edna Driver Smythe. Stanley is also survived by sons, Stanley Kenneth Smythe II and Kenneth (Peggy) Smythe; granddaughter, Stephanie Gail (Matt) Chancy; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kyle and Ronnie; brothers-in-law, Lamar (Carol) Driver and Ezell (Bernice) Conkle; as well as a niece, nephews, and other family and friends.

A service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were made by Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home.
