Alice Woodruff

Alice Woodruff, age 90, died Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, in Oakhill Manor.

Mrs. Woodruff was born Nov. 1, 1919, in Canton to the late William and Mame (Sheatzley) Lux.

She retired from Osnaburg Local Schools after teaching for 37 years. She was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in East Canton.

Mrs. Woodruff is survived by two daughters, Pat Allen of East Canton and Rebecca (Richard) Zastidul of Johnson City, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Ellen Henn of Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; Francis (Larry) Kelly of Cleveland, and Martha Hoopingarner of Canton.

Alice donated her body to the Northeastern College of Medicine in Rootstown because she wanted to give in death to those living.

The family would like to thank all those at Oakhill Manor for the loving care they gave her.

A memorial to celebrate her life will be conducted at a later date. Memorial donations in Alice's memory may be made to Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church or fond memories may be shared online at www.sandersfuneralhome.com.
