William J. Powell

William J. Powell, 93, of East Canton, passed away, Thursday, Dec. 31, at Aultman Hospital. William was born in Greenville, Ala., on Nov. 22, 1916, the son of the late Berry and Massaleaner Powell.

William was a member of Minerva United Methodist Church. He was the designer, builder, owner and operator of Clearview Golf Course.

He is preceded in death by his wife Marcella, and a son, William.

William is survived by a daughter, Renee, and a son, Larry, both of East Canton; three sisters, Mary Alice Walker of Akron, Rose Marie Mathews of Minerva, and Vivien Powell of Mich.

Funeral Services will be held in the Minerva United Methodist Church at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 6, with Rev. Kerry King officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Clearview Legacy Foundation, PO Box 30196, East Canton, Oh., 44730.
