Jared Reichard, a junior at Sandy Valley High School and a Magnolia resident, is working on his Eagle Scout project. To earn this honor, Reichard plans to help purchase and install steps at the baseball fields at Magnolia Village Park.

A member of Boy Scout Troop 38, which is based in East Sparta, Jared is in the final stages of his project. He had organized a group to help with his project. Jared plans to install steps at the field in the area of a steep incline. This will make it easier for fans to get to the field and watch the baseball games.

"Installing steps was something that was looked at a few years ago, but because of lack of funds, it was not a possibility," said Jared. "When I was told about this project, a family friend, Chris Fallot (who was a previous Eagle Scout in my grandfather, Gary Yoho's Magnolia Troop 157) offered his services to help install these steps."

Fallot owns Custom Landscape of Waynesburg, so as Reichard reports, Fallot has the background and experience to do the job correctly.

Jared, in the meantime, is raising the money to purchase the materials and stones to be installed, as well as heading up the manpower needed to help Fallot.

A fund has been set up at the Bank of Magnolia in the name, "Jared Reichard, Eagle Scout Project." He is asking residents and baseball fans to consider this project a worthy cause to invest in.

"This will be an amazing addition to the already wonderful park we have in Magnolia." said Jared. "It is going to be a nice feature, especially for the elderly. Climbing up the slope right now can be a challenge, as well as a safety issue and with the steps and a handrail (of which we would also like to install) it would prove to be an investment in our community."

Donations can be taken to any Bank of Magnolia office or mailed to: Bank of Magnolia, 122 North Main Street, P.O. Box 415, Magnolia, Ohio 44643. Make checks payable to: Jared Reichard, Eagle Scout Project.

Jared, the son of Mike and Tracey Reichard, is also a member of Faith Family Church, where he volunteers in their children's department.
