Hornets honor track athletes

The East Canton track and field teams concluded their season with their annual award dinner at the Foltz Community Center last Tuesday. Team members received various certificates, letters, honors and recognition during the event.

Special awards for girls and boys were; most points distance events, Ashley George and Gabe Henning; most points hurdle events, Felicia Irwin and Bryce Huprich; most point throwing events, Amanda Holland and Duke Taylor; most points jumps, Sara Nicholson and Cody Marshall; most points sprints, Cassie Sharp and Joey Newton; most points relays, Erin Dunbar and David Sahli.

Other awards chosen by the coaches were; best rookie award, Erin Dunbar and Josh Schleappi; most improved award, Courtney Mitchell and Kyle Thompson; hornet hustle award, Angie Parker, Joe Cartwright and Kyle Sharp; most valuable athlete, Felicia Irwin and J.B. DeRosa.
