The Sandy Valley girls track team continue to be successful as they swept Strasburg and Hiland at the meet held at Sandy Valley High School last Tuesday.
Winning seven events, the lady Cardinals totaled 89 points over Strasburg's 67 and Hiland's 18.
Jessica Paul won the 100-meter dash, 300 hurdles and as a member of the 800-meter relay. Other members of the 800 relay team were Kayla VanZant, Alex Lincoln and Elizabeth Leyda. They won the race with a time of 1:57.3.
Julia Cain won the pole vault, breaking her own school record with a leap of 9'6." Cain also was the lead runner of the winning 400-meter relay team. Following Cain's efforts in the relay were Brittany Tozzi, Lincoln and Sarah Hoffman. Alison Malavite won the 400-meter dash clocking a 1:04.2.

The Cardinal boys team also owned the track, winning 87 to Hiland's 43.5 and Strasburg's 40.50.
John Frazier won the 100-meter dash, clocking a 11.6. John Coates took the 1600-meter title with a time of 4:51.80. Sam Gindlesberger took the 800-meter run title with a 2:08.7 time. At the 3200-meter run, Vince Fonte reigned as champion clocking a 11:24.
Winning three relay titles, the Cardinals were at the top of their game. The 400-meter relay of Jesse McDade, Zak Monte, Jake Carnahan and Frazier clocked a 46.9 for the event win. Anthony Davis, Frazier, Carnahan and McDade won the 800-meter relay with a 1:37.9. At distance, Fonte, Murphy, Coates and Dutch Kirkman won the 3200-meter relay with a time of 9:30.1.
In the field events, Corey Fisher won the discus with a throw of 113'6," while Billy Natale took the pole vault title with a 10'6'' leap.
