The East Canton girls basketball team split two games last week, losing to Mogadore by the score of 66-60, and defeating Sandy Valley by the score of 68-55. For statistics and information on the Sandy Valley game, see our sports section.

The Wizards trailed by 10 after one period, and chipped Mogadore's lead in half after two, trailing 29-24 at the half. The score after three was 53-41, in favor of Mogadore.

The leading scorer for the Wizards was Cassie Sharp with a career high 21 points. Sharp also had five assists. Courtney Mitchell added 16 points, and had nine rebounds and three assists. Erin Dunbar had eight points and a team high 10 rebounds.

Coach Tom Davis on the loss had this to say, "We got off to a slow start, missing some easy shots, and got behind by 10 at the end of the first quarter 5-15. For the next three quarters, the Wizards displayed some intensity that had been lacking, and closed the score to within the final six point margin."

Next up for the Wizards is an away game against Garfield. That game will have been played by press time.
