* Rumors seem to go around faster then a speeding train. And by the time they get down the track a mile, they have changed direction, gotten off track, missed a couple stops, somehow hooked up to a couple extra cars, changed colors, and gotten so messed up, the caboose is now pulling the engine. If you would like to learn more about your community then attend your village and township meetings. They both have set time for the public to speak. If you have a concern about your community, this is where you can find the answers. Village council meets the first and third Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at village hall, 130 South Cedar St., and the phone number is 330-488-0220. The township trustees meet the second and fourth Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the township hall, 7115 Hillvale St. SE., and the number is 330-488-0235. .

* Motto to work by: TEAMWORK...means never having to take all the blame yourself.

* Happy Birthday to Mary McKinney. Have a wonderful week!

* Mikey Murphy was home for the holidays from Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. His girlfriend, Megan Welker, was able to ride with his parents to pick him up at the airport. Mikey was very thankful that he got to be home for Christmas and new years day. He was able to see many of his relatives at Christmas time and many of his high school friends on new year's eve. Mikey has all of his basic training done and headed to Virginia on Wednesday, Jan. 6, for music schooling, as he is in the Marine Band. We should all be very proud of him.

* Adam Welker was home from Ohio State University for Christmas break. He left last Saturday to return to college. Jenna Swihart was also home from Urbana University, and she will be returning soon. Let's keep all the local college students in mind as they return to school and while they are away. Why not drop them a card when you have a moment? I'm sure they would love the encouragement.

* New Life Christian Church at 139 Roosevelt Ave. will have an overnight scrapbook crop night on Jan. 15. Come for the evening ($3) or stay all night ($10). The next regular scrapbook night will be on Feb. 19 from 7-11 pm .

* Last week, Marilyn Rugani and Mary Jane Welker were able to visit with Joanne Rugani DeChellis. Joanne lives in Massillon, and is sister-in-law of Marilyn and sister of Mary Jane. The ladies had a wonderful time together.

* Congratulations to Noell Adkins for making the Dean's List at Akron University. Keep up the good work, Noell!

* I hope everyone is having a great 2010. Stick with those resolutions!
