Precious Stones, a group of second- through fifth-graders who meet at the North Industry Christian Church, presented fire fighters at the Canton Township Fire Department Waco Station with trays of cookies on Tuesday, Nov. 11.

Standing from left are station captain Tim Smith, Becca Herbert, Rebecca Sessions, Michaela Williams, Rebecca Boyd, Hannah Barnes; back row, Lauren Franks, Madylin Phillips, Taylor Baldwin, MaKayla Loveless and firefighter Ted Helton.

Accompanying the girls to the fire station were April Loveless, Nicki Boyd and Rachel Sickafoose.

Heather Buzinksi and the Canton South French Club made the cookies and the cards that were given to the fire fighters.

This surprise visit to the station was part of the Go Stark-Canton South Project, which held local days of service, Nov.10-15. The goal is to not only meet needs within the Canton South area but also to enhance the attitude of service throughout the Stark County community. The projects included cleaning parks, winterizing homes, giving free haircuts and much more.

Jeff Franks, community involvement pastor at North Industry Christian Church, organized the Canton South portion of the project.
