VISION, HEARING

SCREENING SET

Vision and hearing screening will be done at the Sandy Valley District on the following dates: Sept. 3 for first grade; Sept. 10 for third grade, Sept. 17 for seventh grade and Sept. 24 for ninth grade.

ELEM. BUILDING

AUCTIONS SET

Elementary buildings will have auctions on Saturday, Sept. 6, at the following times: East Sparta - 9 a.m.; Magnolia - 11:30 a.m.; and Waynesburg - 2 p.m. Demolition of the buildings will be in October.

HORNET NEWS

SCHOOL FEES DUE

East Canton Elementary School staff is asking parents to pay their child's school fees as soon as possible. School fees are as follows: kindergarten-$25; first-grade -$30; second-grade -$40; third- grade - $40. Checks may be made out to East Canton Elementary. The school fees, present and past, picture money, old latchkey payments, and any library books need to be turned in prior to the end of the school year in order for the students to receive their last report card. Picture money checks should be made out to Lifetouch. The other checks should be made out to East Canton Elementary.

OPEN HOUSE SET

Open house will be held at each building in the district on Thursday, Sept. 4, 6:15-7:45 p.m. The bonfire to cheer the football team members on before they meet the Malvern Hornets will be held at 8 p.m., behind the Smith Gymnasium. The public is welcome to attend.

BATTLE OF

HORNETS SET

The battle of the East Canton Hornets against the Malvern Hornets will be held Friday, Sept. 5, 7:30 p.m., at the East Canton stadium.

BOOSTERS MEET

The East Canton Booster Club will meet on Monday, Sept. 8, 7 p.m., in the Lioi Media Center. New members are always needed and welcomed.
