Camera buffs, shutter bugs, nature nuts and other photo enthusiasts, the Stark County District Library is looking for you. Five library locations -- including the Sandy Valley Branch--are holding photo contests this summer as part of the library's "Don't Bug Me... I'm Reading Summer Reading Club." "With our 'Don't Bug Me... I'm Reading' theme, nature photo contests are a perfect fit," said Carol Carmack, coordinator of adult programming for the library. Each contest is independently run at the participating branches, with different awards and judges. Rules and entry forms are available at each location holding a photo contest or at www.starklibrary.org/photocontest.htm. A nature photo contest is being held at the Sandy Valley Branch, located on State Route 800 in Magnolia. The contest is for children in grade six through adults. entries will be accepted through July 19, and winners will be announced on July 25. The other four library branches sponsoring photo contests are: Lake Community Branch-- Third annual Summer Reading Photo Contest, presented in partnership with Quail Hollow State Park Camera Club. This contest is for ages 8 and up, with awards given in seven categories. Entries will be accepted through Aug. 2 and judging will be held Aug. 5. Main Library-- Don't Bug Me, I'm Taking Pictures Nature Photo Contest is for adults. Nature photos will be accepted through July 12, with winners announced July 15. Perry Sippo Branch-- Nature photo contest is for all ages. Entries will be accepted through July 7, and awards announced July 12. Plain Community Branch-- A Nature Inspiration Photo Contest is for all ages, with entries accepted through July 7. Winners will be announced and on display the week of July 14.
