Coaches Comments" Coach Scott Anthony exclaims, "With our bats still a little cold for the second game in a row, we needed a big game from our pitching and our defense. That is just what we got! When this Louisville team hit the ball, they hit it hard, but our defense stepped up and played the best they have played all year."
This was a good test for the Lady Cards. The girls stayed focused throughout the whole game and did not let down.
"Alyse knew before the game that Louisville was a very good team and that we would be counting on her to have a big game."
She delivered for the Cardinals with ten strike outs.
The Cardinals did not hit the ball very well against Louisville, but when they got on base they were able to steal bases and get runners into scoring position.
"This is by far the fastest team I have ever coached" says Anthony, "These girls are very smart and quick on the bases. We get walks or singles and a few pitches later we are standing on third."
The Lady Cardinals have only been thrown out once stealing this season.
Record" 5-0
