The 33rd annual East Canton-Osnaburg Township Festival will be held Wednesday through Saturday, June 11-14 from 5 - 11 p.m. on the grounds of the East Canton Lions Club and East Canton High School. The festival parade on Wednesday, June 11, at 6:30 p.m., will begin the festivities. Marching groups, East Canton High School Marching Band, East Canton Community Queen and Princesses, floats, horses, fire trucks, antique cars and much more will be included. The parade steps off at East Canton High School, proceeds west on Center Street, south on State Route 44 (Wood St.), west on Nassau, south on Cedar, west on Liberty, north on Plum, east on Noble and returns to the high school. Trophies will be awarded at the grandstand following the parade. Parade chairpersons, Diana and Paul Heaston, can be reached at 330-488-0274. Free musical entertainment is scheduled each evening from 8-11 p.m. Country Band, "Laredo" will perform on Wednesday, Kody Stormn and the Winds Band will play on Thursday, First Class will be featured on Friday and "Taylor Made Classics" will perform on Saturday. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the musical entertainment each evening. Mechanical Rides will be provided by Kissel Amusement Company. Food, crafts and games are also planned. Booth spaces are still available for area clubs and individuals by contacting festival committee member, Jackie Branch at 330-488-2125. Other events planned include a pancake breakfast on Saturday, June 14, from 7 -10:30 a.m., at the Foltz Community Center sponsored by the Lowell D. Oberly American Legion. Bingo will be held nightly at 7, at the Foltz Community Center. The East Canton Lions Club will have barbecue chicken dinners Wednesday and Friday, beginning at 5 p.m. A "pedal tractor pull" is set for Saturday, 7:30 p.m., for kids and adults. Registration is free. Sponsoring the tractor pull are Jim and Wendy Ramsey of Ramsey's Concessions. The festival is a non-profit organization with volunteers serving as committee members, which include Carrie Little, Jackie Branch, Dana Kullman and Diana and Paul Heaston. Comments
