Sandy Valley High School will hold graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2008 at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 25 at the high school.

Class of 2008 valedictorian Justin Andrew Beck will address the class. Music will be provided by the high school band under the direction of Jeff Huston. Following remarks by superintendent David Janofa, high school principal David J. Fischer will present the graduates.

Beck is the son of Richard and Ronda Beck of Magnolia. He is a four-year letterwinner in track. He serves as treasurer of the Science Club and is a four-year academic letterwinner and a member of the National Honor Society. A skilled percussionist, Beck is a four-year member of the Sandy Valley marching, concert and pep bands. Beck is a member of East Sparta Christian Church. He plans to attend Shawnee State University to study game design and simulation engineering.

The class salutatorian is Christine E. Wingate. Wingate is the daughter of Jack and Karen Wingate of East Sparta. She is a four-year academic letterwinner and a member of National Honor Society, speech team, Model United Nations and Cardinals for Christ. She has participated as a keyboardist for three years in the Sandy Valley jazz band. She is an active member of East Sparta Christian Church, where she participates in the youth group and adult choir. Wingate was named a National Merit Scholar Finalist by the College Board. She also was selected as a Morrill Scholar by The Ohio State University, where she plans to study linguistics.

The 2008 class officers are Paige Camille Dagenhard, president; Sabrina Marie Williams, vice-president; Olivia Stephanie Gruber, secretary; Cherish Ellen Esther Edna Wills, treasurer.
