George Tomko, one of the veterans who went along on the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., on May 3, succumbed to cancer on Tuesday. May 13.
Mr. Tomko touched many people that day as he wore his US Navy uniform and saluted the large crowd of people who were there to greet him in both the Reagan National Airport and the Akron-Canton Airport. Tomko served as a photographer in the Navy, and he still has many of his photos displayed in Akron. Look for more information on Mr. Tomko in next week's Press-News
