The Snyders were recently in Sydney, Australia, for the 93rd Lions Club International Convention. While there, Jeff and Carol Snyder were able to show off their hometown paper, with the Sydney Opera House, a famous landmark in the Circular Quay of the Sydney Harbor, in the background.
Lion Jeff was installed as the governor of District 13D of the Ohio Lions at the convention, during which over 14,000 Lions from all over the world attended. The keynote speaker was Charles B. "Sully" Sullenberger, the pilot who successfully put his plane into the Hudson River during an emergency landing in January of 2009, and thus saved the lives of his crew and his 150 passengers. The Snyders said hearing the pilot talk was the highlight of the event.
