SV Class of '85 plans to return to its roots for 25th celebration

Published:

When the Sandy Valley High School Class of 1985 holds its 25th anniversary reunion, June 25-27, class members plan to make it a "homecoming" as well.

Those planning the event will return to the Sandy Valley area and spend time in all four communities during their three days of activities. Plans will include a meet and greet at Tozzi's Bar in Magnolia on Friday, June 25; a reunion dinner at Cibo's Restaurant in Waynesburg on Saturday, June 26, and a picnic and get-together at the Sandy Valley Community Park in East Sparta on Sunday, June 27. In addition, the class will tour the village of Sandyville and the new high school building. Times for the events will be announced at a later date.

Jim McCoy, one of the class members and organizers, commented, "We are trying to keep everything we do within the Sandy Valley High School community. Keeping expenses low, giving back to the community and trying to keep everything green-- recycled invitations, low carbon footprints, etc."

He added, "We are the class that sang 'We are the World' at our graduation...so I want to try to make an impact on what we have all achieved to contribute to the wellness of the community."
