Lady Cardinals dominate Newcomerstown

Karlee Altimore and Baylee Offenberger combined for 15 kills in leading Sandy Valley to a 25-16, 25-12, 25-13 volleyball win over Newcomerstown.

Altimore finished the night with eight kills, while Offenberger had seven.

Kaitlynn Steele contributed five kill and four points, Alyssa Sines had 18 assists and four points, and Courtney Snyder had 13 digs and six points.

A day later, the girls lost to Malvern 25-18, 25-23, 25-17.

Izzy Hysong had 11 points and 10 digs; Sines had 18 assists, six points and 12 digs; Snyder had 19 digs and four points; Offenberger had six kills; and Altimore had four kills and two assists.

Sandy Valley closed the week with a 25-7, 27-25, 25-22 loss to East Canton.

Sines had 15 assists, eight digs and two kills; Offenberger had six kills; and Addie Kirkbride had five kills and two assists.

The Lady Cardinals were to battle Garaway on Oct. 3 and Strasburg on Oct. 4, before traveling to Hiland today (Oct. 6) and to Ridgewood on Monday, Oct. 10.
