Sandy Valley beats Malvern by a stroke

Sandy Valley swept the season series from Malvern, winning the match at Wilkshire by one stroke, 170-171.

Jared Eichelberger led the winners with a 40. Bryce Offenberger had a 41, Logan Leichtamer had a 43 and Anthony Churillo had a 46.

Sandy Valley lost to Ridgewood 171-174. B. Offenberger had a 39, Leichtamer had a 42, Keegan Offenberger had a 46, Eichelberger had a 47, Churilla had a 49 and Rob Schreffler had a 53.

The Cardinals were beaten by Tusky Central. No team scores were available. Leichtamer had a 44, Eichelberger had a 45, B. Offenberger had a 47 and Churilla had a 50.

B. Offenberger had the low round for the Cardinals with an 80 at the Inter-Valley Conference Post Season Tournament at Wilkshire Golf Course.

Eichelberger and Leichtamer had 84s and Churilla had a 93.

Strasburg won the tournament and the league title with a 312. Garaway was next with a 321, followed by Ridgewood with a 333, Hiland with a 335, Malvern with a 337, Sandy Valley with a 341, Tusky Central with a 366 and Newcomerstown with a 375.

The Cardinals were to compete in the Division II East Sectional Tournament on Sept. 26.
