Megan Hughes recorded a hat trick in powering the Lady Cardinals to a 7-0 soccer win against visiting Akron Springfield.

Halie Sciury had a great game from her forward position with a goal and three assists.

The Woodin sisters, Bella and Lexi, each found the back of the net; and Lexi had three saves between the posts.

"The team is definitely heading in the right direction and the moral is better then ever," commented Head Coach Victor Morales. "The girls are having a great season and I don't think there is anything that can bring them down right now."

Earlier in the week, Sandy Vally lost to Salem 10-1. Sciury had the lone goal, and Samantha Starcher was busy in goal with 25 saves.

"The girls played hard, but the best thing we got out of this game was the experience and the desire to work hard," commented Coach Morales. "We hope to see them next year and give them a better game."

The Lady Cardinals were to battle Dover on Sept. 20 and Ridgewood on Sept. 21; before traveling to Carrollton this Saturday, Sept. 24. The girls will host Garfield on Tuesday, Sept. 27.
