Kiannah Sarver placed 16th in leading the Lady Cardinals to a sixth-place showing at the Newcomerstown Cross Country Invitational.
The freshman completed the course with a time of 21:31.78.
Chloe Thomas was 19th in 21:35.92, Mercedes Sarver was 25th in 22:05.54, Alex Howell was 29th in 22:14.35, Emily Miller was 58th in 24:39.8, Ruby Behm was 59th in 24:42.79, Natalie Burns was 70th in 25:58.34, and Maggie Lampe was 83rd in 26:28.63.
Fredericktown won the girls race with 44 points. It was followed by Shadyside with 65, Garaway with 70, Caldwell with 105, Dalton with 116, Sandy Valley with 128, Utica with 179, New Lexington with 235, Crooksville with 248 and Malvern with 265.
Boys Cross Country
Aleks Rymer had the best showing on the day at Newcomerstown as he placed 22nd in 17:57.83.
Michael Lewton was 27nd in 18:28.54, Eric Leech was 29th in 18:28.54, Dean Freitag was 30th in 18:40, Nash Monroe was 38th in 19:04.35, Isaac Knight was 47th in 19:24.65, Jeffrey Edwards was 59th in 20:14.19, Austin Owens was 63rd in 20:19.47, and Nick Cappillo was 69th in 20:43.46.
Fredericktown won the team title with 50 points. It was followed by Caldwell with 56, Garaway with 86, Harrison Central with 89, Sandy Valley with 156, Fort Frye with 156, Newcomerstown with 180, New Lexington with 223, Hiland with 228, Dalton with 230, Utica with 281 and Ridgewood with 298.
The Cardinals will compete in the Jackson Invitational this Saturday, Sept. 10.
