Lady Hornets improve to 4-2

It was a great week for the East Canton volleyball team as it picked up two league wins, imrpvoing to 4-2 on the young season.

The Lady Hornets downed Hiland 25-20, 25-18, 25-2.

Maddie Hill had 13 points; Kylee Holland had 10 points and six kills; Natalie Spitale had 13 kills, eight points, 13 digs and four blocks; Audri Nichols had 26 assists and nine points; Trustyn Holland-Kerekes had 29 digs; Laurelyn Schmidt had five blocks; and Maggie Geis had 12 digs and six kills.

Two days later, the girls beat Newcomerstown 25-7, 25-7, 25-11.

Spitale had 15 kills, nine points, three aces, six digs and two blocks; Kylee Holland had 17 points, three aces and four kills; Nichols had 25 assists and 14 points; Geis had eight digs, two kills and two blocks; Holland-Kerekes had 12 digs; Hill had six points; Addison Loy had four points; and Schmidt had three kills and a block.

East Canton was to face Sandy Valley on Sept. 6 and Conotton Valley on Sept. 7, before hosting Ridgewood on Monday, Sept. 12. The girls will travel to Tusky Central on Tuesday, Sept. 13.
