Lady Cardinals dominate Newcomerstown spikers

The Lady Cardinals opened up their volleyball week with a 25-13, 25-22, 25-13 win over Newcomerstown.

Alyssa Sines had nine points, 25 assists and 10 digs; Addie Kirkbride had seven points and six kills; Courtney Snyder had 14 digs and six points; Hannah Streamo had 10 points; Izzy Hysong had nine points; and Taylor Srock and Karlee Altimore each had six kills.

The girls were beaten by rival Malvern 25-21, 25-20, 24-26, 25-12.

Streamo had 21 digs and seven points; Kaitlynn Steele had five digs and five kills; Srock had five kills, Snyder had 30 digs and seven points; Sines had 17 assists and 10 digs; and Baylee Offenberger had six points, five kills and four digs.

Sandy Valley lost both matches of a triangular last Saturday morning.

The girls were beaten by New Philadelphia 25-10, 25-9. Sines had three assists and Courtney Snyder had nine digs.

Sines had 10 assists, eight digs and three points in a 25-15, 25-10 loss to Carrollton. Snyder chipped in with nine digs and three points.

Sandy Valley was to face East Canton on Sept. 6, before traveling to Garaway today (Sept. 8). The girls will travel to Strasburg on Monday, Sept. 12; and host Hiland on Tuesday, Sept. 13.
