Lady Hornets beat Rootstown, Sebring

The East Canton Lady Hornets opened up the volleyball season splitting its first four matches, recording wins against Rootstown and Sebring.

"Natalie Spitale leads us with 14 kills a match and has a total of 14 aces though four games," commented Head Coach Dan Pennell. "Maggie Geis and Laurlyn Schmidt both are averaging four blocks. Trustyn Holland- Kerekes is leading us with an average of 15 digs and Audri Nichols is averaging 25 assists a match.

"We have to work on cleaning up mistakes in the middle of our matches that has caused us to lose focus, which has be our down fall."

The girls were to face Hiland on Aug. 30, before hosting Newcomerstown today (Sept. 1). East Canton will travel to Sandy Valley on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
