"We are very young and inexperienced, so our returning lettermen will have to shoulder the load until our confidence and experience grows," commented Sandy Valley head coach Gary Offenberger when asked about his 2016 boys golf team. "Garaway, Strasburg and Hiland should contend for the league title."

The Cardinals return three lettermen -- senior Bryce Offenberger, junior Jared Eichelberger, and sophomore Anthony Churilla.

Also being looked upon to contribute are Rob Schreffler, Keegan Offenberger, Logan Leichthamer, Loghan Russell and Reed Faigley.

Sandy Valley started the season with a forfeit win over Conotton Valley, as the Rockets did not have enough players to score as a team.

B. Offenberger and Leichthamer each had 38s, Eichelberger had a 41, and Schreffler had a 49.
