Some recent graduates from East Canton and Sandy Valley are set to play in their last high school football games.

The Stark County East-West All-Star game will be played at 7 p.m. July 16 at GlenOak High School's Bob Cummings Field.

The East team will be led by Sandy Valley head coach Zach Gardner, who led the Cardinals to a 9-1 record last year and a second round playoff berth. He will be helped by fellow assistant Brian Gamble as well as Josh Grimsley and Charles Harris of McKinley.

Recent Sandy Valley graduates Brandon Murphy (linebacker) and Jacob Wagner (wide receiver and defensive back) were selected to be on the field for the East.

Murphy received first team All-IVC honors last year. Wagner was an all-around player in his senior year and was named the conference's player and kicking specialist of the year.

Brandon Clapper and Logan Mercer will represent East Canton for the East. Mercer received IVC honorable mention recognition in his final high school season.

Murphy and Wagner will also play in an East-West all-star game which will be at New Philadelphia's Woody Hayes Quaker Stadium on July 22. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
