East Canton High School's volleyball team will have five returning letter winners looking to make an impact in 2013.
Juniors Brittany Gibson and Amelia Pennell as well as Darian Ritchie, Emily Barnes and Holly Manzell all return from last season.
Dawn Vlacovsky enters her second season as the Hornets head coach. She has of couple of keys in mind in order for East Canton to be successful this year.
"Lots of hard work and building of confidence," Vlacovsky said.
In addition to the five returning letter winners, the Hornets will have several others that will look to help the veterans.
They include juniors Cheyenne Helms, Maddie Kline and Alexis Wellendorf and freshmen Julia Dimmerling, Alexis Fogle, Maggie Geis, Audri Nichols and Natalie Spitale.
East Canton will have a different schedule this year as it begins its first season in the Inter-Valley Conference.
The Hornets opened the season on Aug. 22 at home and fell to Mogadore 25-21, 21-25, 19-25, 17-25.
Gibson had nine kills and Spitale had seven assists and eight kills to lead East Canton.
Upcoming matches for the team include today at home against Ridgewood, Sept. 3 at home against Garaway and Sept. 5 at Sandy Valley.
