Wildcat wrestling downed by West Branch

The South boys wrestling team returned to the mats on Jan. 10 when they traveled to West Branch High School to compete in a NBC dual with the Warriors.

Canton South won just two matches the entire night as West Branch controlled the dual and rolled the Wildcats by the final tally of 59-12.

The lone winners for the Cats were D.J. Schoeppner and Walker Catlett. Schoeppner won in the 126 pound weight class by pinning Donovan Anderson in 1:14. Catlett pinned Cody Learn in 3:47.

The Wildcats are back in action on Thursday, Jan. 17 when they host the Minerva Lions in another NBC dual. The meet is set to begin at 7:30 p.m at Faircrest Middle School.

The boys will then travel to Firestone High School to compete in the Bill Dies Memorial on Jan. 18 and Jan. 19. Wrestling is set to begin at 3 p.m. on Jan. 18 and 10 a.m. on Jan. 19.
