Hornets fall to powerful Bombers

The East Canton Hornets fell to the powerful Windham Bombers last Friday by a 74-48 count. Windham played well in all facets of the game to overwhelm the host Hornets.

In quarter one, Windham used a variety of full and half court pressures to create a turnover nightmare for the Hornets. They were guilty of 12 turnovers and fell behind 18-2. An early Hayden Miller hoop was their lone score in the stanza.

In quarter two, the Hornets eliminated their turnover issue, with no miscues after the first possession of the quarter. They also generated some offense with Clay Libertore scoring four of the team's 11 markers. Unfortunately, the Bombers unleashed a devastating running game fueled by Hornet misses and amassed a 38-13 lead by halftime.

Quarter three was another of the Miller Trey Shows, as the junior bomber hit four treys on the quarter, as part of a 23-point team production. However, Windham shot well and was happy to just keep pace and led 58-34 after three quarters. The final stanza was then played on fairly even terms.

Miller hit five treys and totaled 17 points while Libertore hit double figures with 10.
