Canton South girls tennis holds postseason banquet

The Canton South girl's tennis team celebrated their outstanding 2012 season on Nov. 1 at McCall's Restaurant and Banquet Center.

Earning special awards for the Cats were Paige Mittas (1st Team NET, 1st Team NBC, Honorable Mention All-County and First Court Award), Tessa Hollinger (1st Team NET, NET second singles tournament champion, 2nd Team NBC, Honorable Mention All-County, NET and NBC scholastic award), Jessica Haley (1st Team NET, won NET third singles championship, 2nd Team NBC, Coaches Award, Ohio Tennis Coaches Association "Silver Racquet" award and NBC and NET Scholastic Award), Sarah Krichbaum (1st Team NET, won NET 1st doubles championship, 2nd Team NBC, Coaches Award, Ohio Tennis Coaches Association "Silver Racquet" award and NBC and NET Scholastic Award), Ann Trissel (1st Team NET, won NET 1st doubles championship, 2nd Team NBC, Coaches Award and NBC and NET Scholastic Award), Ashley Weaver (1st Team NET, won NET second doubles championship, Honorable Mention NBC, Most Improved Award and NBC and NET Scholastic Award) and Brook Wyant (1st Team NET, won NET second doubles championship and Most Improved Award).

In addition to all the team's honors, Head Coach Art Fach was named Coach of the Year.

The Wildcats finished the season with a 15-3 season and won the NET Championship.
