The staff of The News Leader and The Press-News thanks everyone who submitted recipes for its cookbook/gift guide this year.
As always, the recipes are a mix of new and traditional. With all the great cooks and bakers in the area, picking the winners is always challenging.
This year's grand prize winner is Donna Wey of Malvern, who won for her Sweet Pumpkin Dip. She will receive $30 for the winning recipe.
The category winners, who receive each $17.50, are:
Salad and Appetizer: Marty Beachy of Waynesburg with Stuffed Pepper Soup;
Side Dishes and Vegetables: Carolyn Grasselli of New Philadelphia with Sweet Potato Crunch;
Main Dishes: Carol Grimm of Carrollton with Enchilada Lasagna; and
Desserts: Bob Fallot of Waynesburg with Pilgrim Pumpkin Delight.
