Osnaburg Board of Education prepares for new school year

EAST CANTON-- At the July 18 Osnaburg Local Board of Education meeting the following personnel items were approved.

The board accepted the resignation of special education //teacher aide Tina WIlson. Cierra Barwick was hired as the middle//high school guidance counselor. Thomas Besta was hired as a high school math teacher and

Steve Gamble will be a custodian for the district. A new part-time secretary will be Brandy Lebo.

An open house for the district has been set for Aug. 17, and the first student day is Tuesday, Aug. 23.

In other business, the board of education:

/ APPROVED two existing open enrollment students from Louisville and two new open enrollment students from Canton Local;

/ APPROVED employee Michelle Peterson to enroll her daughter in the school district;

/ APPROVED annual membership into the Ohio School Board Association;

/ ADOPTED the following substitute teacher pay rate: $70 per day for 1-20 days of continuous service to one assignment and $80 per day for days 21-59.
