The Sandy Valley High School Class of 1965 included the Magnolia Flouring Mill as part of its recent alumni gathering. In May 20, members volunteered to clean and dust the inside of the mill and plant a butterfly garden outside of the mill. They also enjoyed a guided tour of the iconic building and equipment and a picnic lunch at Magnolia Park.
Coordinator Dave Reicosky hopes that the project will become a tradition for other alumni and graduating classes.
He said, "We were very excited about this project and hope that you will also be inspired. Completion of this type of endeavor would be a first for SV graduating classes and could become a standard for other classes."
Groups interested in a Day of Service or adopting a park or trail location at Stark Parks should contact Corianne Kocarek at 330-409-8993.
