Local schools send students to Buckeye Boys State in BG

Sandy Valley High School and Canton South High School recently sent 12 students to Buckeye Boys State held June 9-16 at Bowling Green State University.

All of the students sent were sponsored by American Legion Posts 342 and 244 out of Waynesburg and Magnolia and North Industry Post 440 out of Canton.

Post 244 sent eight students to Boys State who are entering their senior year of high school.

Those students are as follows: Clay Neisel, son of Jeff and Janey Weisel of Dellroy; Seth Nichols, son of Michelle Nichols of Carrollton; Hudson Cole, son of Rick and Sherry Cole of New Philadelphia; Augustus Lancaster, son of Brad and Lisa Lancaster of Magnolia; Andrew Lancaster, son of Greg and Debbie Lancaster of Magnolia; Sam James, son of Jim and Yvonne James of Magnolia; Evan Offenberger, son of Teela Franks of Magnolia and Jared Strubel, son of Tim and Jennie Strubel of Magnolia.

Post 342 of Waynesburg sent two students: Jacob Geiger, son of Paul and Tammy Geiger of Waynesburg and Jospeh Newman, son of Michelle Newman of Waynesburg.

Adam Criswell and Dylan Dolph were the delegates from Canton South that were sponsored by Post 244.
