Walker Elementary students enjoy sledding

Published:

"Old Man Winter" finally visited Walker Elementary School during the holiday break, and he left behind plenty of snow.

The fourth graders of Walker Elementary took full advantage of the fresh powder on Friday, Jan. 4, as a part of their nine-weeks grading period activity.

Children are given the opportunity each grading period to choose an activity to celebrate the collective hard work performed by both students and teachers. Sled riding was an overwhelming choice this time.

Students, teachers and even a few family members joined in the fun. Students took turns sliding down the gentle slope in the side yard of the school property.

Hot chocolate and fellowship followed in the cafeteria prior to dismissal on Friday afternoon.
