SV Middle School 'adopts a family' for Christmas'

Published:

Sandy Valley Middle School staff and students recently raised funds to support six families within the district, the school's Adopt-A-Families for Christmas project.

Students and staff raised $1,597 through a canned-food drive, canned-food items for dance admission, a Turkey Bowl at Thanksgiving, a Penny War, hat day and staff jean days. The middle school Student Councils were in charge of these activities.

Gifts were purchased and wrapped by the teaching staff. Everyone agreed it was a great feeling to be able to help out a family in the area.
