Nicholson receives Timken scholarship

Carli Nicholson, a 2010 graduate of Sandy Valley High School, has been awarded one of the largest external scholarships in the history of Sandy Valley. The Timken Company Education Fund selected Carli as the recipient of a $30,000 renewable scholarship.

The Timken Company Education Fund has awarded $310,000 in scholarships this year to 38 college-bound students, all children of Timken associates from among its operations around the world. One $50,000 renewable scholarship was awarded, and two $30,000 renewable scholarships were awarded, which Carli was one of the recipients. The balance of the award winners received $5,000-$10,000.

Nicholson will be attending The Ohio State University where she plans to study Pharmaceutical Sciences. She is the daughter of Steve and Kim Nicholson. Carli was also the recipient of the OHSFSCA Billhardt Scholarship for $1,000, the OHSAA Scholar-Athlete Scholarship for $1,000, and the Plain Township Rotary William Heichel Memorial Scholarship for $500.
