The second annual Minerva Jazz Festival, set for Saturday, Feb. 27, will feature a free performance by the John Trapani Big Band.
The John Trapani Big Band, playing at 1 p.m., recreates original arrangements of classic big-band pieces by Glenn Miller, Harry James, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Stan Kenton, Benny Goodman, Count Basie and Duke Ellington.
The festival will also feature performances by area high-school and middle-school jazz bands during the morning.
The festival will be held in the Minerva High School auditeria, 501 Almeda Ave., Minerva, with doors opening at 9:30 a.m. A concession stand will be available throughout the day.
This event is made possible by funding from Arts in Stark and the American Federation of Musicians.
