BENEFIT DINNER

TO BE HELD

AT SANDY VALLEY

The Sandy Valley Science Club is planning a benefit dinner on Feb. 19, 4-6 p.m. before the last home game. Seventy-five percent of the proceeds will go to scholarships for Sandy Valley High School Students. The remainder will be given to "Hearts for Haiti," which is a middle school fund-raiser to help rebuild a school in Haiti that was destroyed during the earthquake. Tickets for the dinner are $7 for adults, $5 for children 12 an under and children 2 and under are free.

WINTER BAND,

CHOIR CONCERT SET

On Sunday, Feb. 21,2 p.m., the Sandy Valley Music Department will present its winter band and choir concert in the Sandy Valley High School Auditorium.

The concert will feature the Cardinal Symphonic Band, under the direction of Jeffrey S. Huston, and the Cardinal Concert Choir, under the direction of Barry Busse. This year's theme and inspiration is from the music of Italy. Highlights include Rossini's William Tell Overture, Puccini's O Mio Babbino Caro, Vivaldi's The Four Seasons and Gloria , as well as a combined band and choir medley of Neapolitan street songs. Celebrated flutist and Sandy Valley graduate, Dianne Williams, will join the band as the guest soloist. An Italian inspired art display by the Sandy Valley Art Department, led by Mrs. Judy DiSabato and Mrs. Brenda Lidderdale, will complete our afternoon trip to Italy. Admission to the concert is free and open to the public; however, donations will be accepted.

CONFERENCES

ARE SET

Amos McDannel Elementary School will have parent-teacher conferences on Feb. 25, 3:30-7 p.m. Conferences will also be held on March 4 at the same time. Canton South High School will have parent-teacher conferences on March 4, 3-6:45 p.m.

OPEN HOUSE

TO BE HELD

Faircrest Memorial Middle School will hold an open house on March 4, 4-7:30 p.m.

PARENT NIGHT

IS SCHEDULED

An eighth-grade parent night will be held at Canton South High School on March 4, 6:45 p.m.
