Two members of the senior class are being honored as fall spotlighted students at East Canton High School. They are Chase Sanders and Courtney Rusnak.
Chase, the son of Scott and Julie Sanders, is a 4.0 student. He is vice president of the Rotary Interact Club and a member of the National Honor Society. He has also been a member of the football team and Student Council.
He works at the Pro-Football Hall of Fame and competes in tractor pulls with his Farmall Super M-TA tractor. He has also shown cattle at the Ohio State and Stark County fairs-- showing in the Ohio Cattleman's "best series." Chase has also been a Buckeye Boys State representative.
Future plans for Chase are to attend The Ohio State University, Purdue University or Ohio North University to earn a degree in biomedical engineering. He plans to then enter medical school to become an anesthesiologist or surgeon. He also plans to raise show cattle.
Courtney is the daughter of David and Debbie Rusnak. She is a varsity cheerleader (lettering last year) and has been member of National Honor Society for two years. She is also in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Interact. She is on the yearbook staff, participates in choir and chorale and has been in theater activities since her freshman year.
Outside of school, she is president of her 4-H Club, in which she has been a member for eight years. She is also involved in her church, the Sanctuary Church of God.
After graduation from high school, Courtney plans to attend Kent State University in the nursing program. She would like to attain a master's degree in nursing and become a nurse practitioner.
