The Canton Local Schools have been recognized by the Ohio Department of Education with the 2009 Stellar Award for Best Nutritional Practices. Only 20 schools or school districts, a career center and a treatment center from across Ohio were honored when the award was announced late in December.
Selection for this honor was based on their efforts to adopt USDA guidelines for local school wellness policies.
