Centenary United Methodist Church in Waynesburg recently welcomed Linda Slutz as its new pastor effective July 1.
Slutz was previously a minister at Christ United Methodist Church in West Akron.
She has also been actively involved in nursing home worship ministries and ministries for children on the Autism Spectrum Disorder.
In a letter to church members, Slutz said, "I am understanding our church to be a God-centered, welcoming, easy-going body of Christ."
She noted the church has a small congregation. "However, we are here to love, learn and serve," she later added.
Slutz is a resident of Massillon. She has one son, William, a daughter-in-law named Arryn and a granddaughter named Addie.
