Harry Reed turns 90


Harry Reed will celebrate his 90th birthday with family on Saturday, Feb. 9, at Nicole's Family Restaurant in East Canton.

He was born in Waynesburg on Feb. 9, 1923, to the late Arthur and Mamie Reed.

A veteran of World War II, he served his country in the South Pacific, with company C, 174th Engineer Combat Battalion.

Reed retired in April of 1988, after 40 years with the Resco Company in East Canton.

On Jan. 8, Reed and his wife, Ruth (Himes), celebrated 64 years of marriage.

They are members of Grace Brethren Church, where Harry has been a greeter and usher for many years.

A Ford man all his life, he also enjoys gardening.
