NEW WAY UMC MOVES TO NEW HOME
On Sunday, Jan. 6, the New Way United Methodist Church will hold its first service in its new home. They will meet every Sunday at 6 p.m., at Perry Grange, located at the corner of Navarre Rd. SW and Richville Drive.
New Way began as O2 ministries over five years ago; this was an off-site worship service of Otterbein United Methodist Church of Navarre. The members had met at T.C. Knapp Elementary School.
On Easter of 2012, they became a New Church Start in the East Ohio Conference United Methodist Church.
The pastor is Keith D. Brown, Kyler Morrison is the worship leader, Jennifer Brown is the Director of Education, Chuck Anderson leads the Care Ministry.
Everyone is invited to these services.
FELLOWSHIP NIGHT SHOWS FILM
Fellowship Night was held at Christ Memorial Church in Robertsville on Dec. 15, The event was hosted by Ralph and Kathy Frase.
The evening began with the movie "Last Ounce of Courage," shown by church member Bill Hartenstein in the sanctuary. Prayer was given by Ralph Frase.
To round out the night, carry-in snacks, desserts and beverages were served in the downstairs social room.
WORKERS IN GOD'S SERVICE TO MEET
Workers in God's Service met Dec. 17, at Christ Memorial Church in Robertsville for a covered- dish buffet dinner and gift exchange. Table grace was given by President Beverly Perry, hostess.
Fourteen members were seated at tables colorfully decorated for the holiday season. Take-home favors were lighted snowmen. Everyone received a gift, cookies and greeting card from outgoing vice president Kathy Boyce.
President Perry conducted business when it was announced volunteers were needed for various committees. The secretary/treasurer reports were approved as read by Dorothy Yohe and Evelyn Pikulik, respectively, following a brief discussion.
Officers for the next year are Perry, president; Martha Haubert, vice president; Dorothy Yohe, secretary; Jean Willis, assistant secretary; Evelyn Pikulik, treasurer; and Kate Clapper, assistant treasurer.
Program chairperson Becky Horvath was in charge of Christmas word games, memories and provided zither accompaniment for the singing of Christmas carols.
Gifts were exchanged while the members were seated in a circle and music played in the background.
The meeting adjourned with prayer by Becky Horvath.
The first meeting in the new year will be a brown bag luncheon on Jan. 21, 12:30 p.m., at the church, with Mary Creighton, hostess and Marge Rue, program chairperson.
