Richard and Irene Showalter of East Canton will celebrate their 50th anniversary on Jan. 27.
The former Irene Brunner and Richard Showalter were married in Swissvale, Pa. in 1962.
The Showalters have three sons. They are Ron (and Karina) of North Carolina, Pastor Tom (and Rose) of Barberton and Tim (and Lindsey) of Louisville.
They have four granddaughters and two grandsons.
Rich is retired from J&L Specialty Steel, after 42 years of service. Irene is retired from First Merit.
A celebration will be held at a later date. Pastor Tom Showalter will officiate the renewal of their vows at that time.
