LUNCHEON SET
Canton Christian Women's Connection will hold its monthly luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, at North Canton Civic Center. The theme will be "Accessorize your life." The event will feature Shelly Davis with Cookie Lee Jewelry. Mary Thompson will speak and Pat Long will provide music. O2 MINISTRY TO HOLD CAR SHOW
The O2 Ministry will hold a car show on Sunday, Aug. 22. There will be music, fellowship and food from 5-7 p.m. during the car show. Music will be by the O2 Ministry Worship Band. You are invited to come, bring a lawn chair and expect to have an uplifting and inspiring time. The O2 Ministry meets at T.C. Knapp Elementary School, 5151 Oakcliff St. S.W., Canton. This is just off of Perry and Navarre roads. Pastor Keith Brown is the director of the ministry, and Drew Gilson is the worship leader. Services are held every Sunday night at 6 p.m. and are open to all. The O2 Ministry is an outreach of Otterbein United Methodist Church where James D. Zimmerman is the senior pastor. CHICKEN DINNER SET
A chicken dinner fundraiser will be held at the fellowship hall of Little Country Church on Saturday, Aug. 28 at 5 p.m. Tickets are $10 and the meal includes: one-half rotisserie chicken, baked potato, green beans, salad and dinner roll. All proceeds go to Operation El Salvador for the youth mission trip in June 2011. Tickets need to be purchased by the Aug. 21. Only be a few tickets will be sold the day of the dinner. TO HAVE BARBECUE
Canton Christian Home, a retirement community in Canton, will have its third annual chicken barbecue fund-raiser on Saturday, Sept. 11, from 4-7 p.m. on the campus of the home at 2550 Cleveland Ave. N.W. The adult price is $10 and includes one half chicken, baked potato, cole slaw, or apple sauce, roll and beverage. Children under 12 may substitute a hot dog for the chicken for $5. MT. TABOR TO HAVE RALLY DAY
On Sunday, Sept. 12, after worship, there will be food, fun and fellowship at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in East Canton. The rally day theme will be "Caught Having Fun."
